Tan Hui Hui

Clinical Psychologist, M Psych (Clin)

Hui Hui embarked on a mid-career transition to fulfill her passion for working alongside individuals to help them flourish and cope with adversities, ultimately becoming a clinical psychologist. She earned her Master's degree in Psychology (Clinical) from James Cook University Singapore in 2018. Since then, she has gained extensive experience in both public and private hospital settings, where she offers clinical assessment and therapy services to a diverse range of clients, including children, adults, and older adults.

 

At Holding Ground, Hui Hui's primary focus is on conducting clinical assessments. She specialises in performing psycho-educational assessments for students, including but not limited to intellectual functioning, adaptive behaviour, academic achievement, and the potential presence of conditions such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and dyslexia. In addition, she conducts neuropsychological assessments to assess cognitive functioning in individuals with brain injuries or neurological conditions.

Hui Hui offers therapy services to a wide range of clients, including adolescents, adults, and older adults, who are grappling with subjective distress impacting their daily functioning or coping with various psychological disorders. She possesses comprehensive expertise in diverse therapeutic approaches, which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Hui Hui has a special interest in working with the geriatric population. She is proficient in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and can communicate in simple Hokkien. This language versatility enhances her capacity to effectively connect with and assist clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds and preferences.

In addition to her clinical work, Hui Hui serves as a sessional lecturer for undergraduate Psychology courses at the Singapore campus of an Australian university. She enjoys outdoor activities and travelling in her leisure time.
