Rachel Low

Clinical Psychology Trainee

Master of Psychology (Clinical) (candidate)

James Cook University Singapore

Rachel provides reduced-fee therapy as part of her clinical training.

Rachel is a Clinical Psychology trainee from James Cook University Singapore, where she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She brings with her a broad foundation of experience across community, clinical, and research settings, and has supported individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical work includes supporting clients with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, selective mutism, hoarding behaviours, cognitive decline, and personality-related difficulties.

She is committed to creating a warm, safe, and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Rachel views therapy as a collaborative journey and is dedicated to walking alongside her clients as they grow through life’s challenges. Rachel adopts an integrative and client-centred approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring each intervention to meet the unique needs and context of the individual.

Rachel holds a strong passion for working with youths and adolescents, viewing this developmental stage as a critical window for early intervention. As young people begin to make sense of themselves and the world on a deeper level, it becomes essential to identify and address early risk factors before they develop into more entrenched mental health concerns. Rachel is deeply committed to supporting young individuals in their emotional development and helping them build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of agency.

Outside of sessions, Rachel values balance and self-care. She enjoys rock climbing, going to the gym, and winding down with a good cup of iced coffee. These simple but meaningful activities help her stay grounded and reflect her belief in living a full, mindful, and values-driven life.

Rachel is currently completing her practicum placement at Holding Ground (Psychology Practice) as part of the requirement for completing a Master of Psychology (Clinical) programme. Her practice is closely supervised by Ms Yammie Chin, Co-Founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist from Holding Ground (Psychology Practice) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (SRP) to ensure quality client care.

As a Clinical Psychologist Trainee, Rachel provides therapy at a subsidised rate. She is available for both in person and online therapy.
